What personal data we collect and why we collect it

 

Information you voluntarily provide to us

We collect the following information from you when you provide it to us:

  • Information you provide prior to any registration process, such as your email when you provide it to us;
  • Information that you provide during any registration process, including in connection with a co-branded offer (such as your name, company name, email address, phone number, billing address or credit card information, geographic location and industry);
  • Information you provide, when you call or email us (for support or otherwise) or when you use our products or services

Information we collect about your usage and devices

We collect data relating to your online activity on our websites, including the following:

  • IP address;
  • Browser type and version;
  • Type of device you use, operating system version, and device identifier;
  • Geographic location;
  • Pages you view;
  • How you got to our Services and any links you click on to leave our Services;
  • When you update your information, communicate with us, or order new Services;
  • Metadata about your use of our Services and emails we send to you (including clicks and opens);
  • Metadata about how your customers, contacts, and users interact with the Services we provide you;
  • Your interactions with any videos we offer;
  • Issues you encounter requiring our support or assistance; and
  • Any device or other method of communication you use to interact with the Services.

We store the data we collect in a variety of places within our infrastructure, including system log files, back end databases and analytics systems.

Comments

At the present, we don’t collect comments across our site.

But if we were to collect comments on a specific page for a limited time on a limited proyect, when visitors leave comments on the site we will collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Choice/Opt-out

You always have the opportunity to opt out of our communications with you or change your preferences by following a link in the footer of all email messages from us.

Newsletter and other opt-in regular on-going emails from us is being are handled under the ConvertKit Privacy Policy.

All correspondence related to our schools is handled by Desarrollo Red’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We don’t share our analytics data with anyone.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We don’t share your contact information with anyone.

How we protect your data

Besides SSL we have all of the data we collect behind a server firewall monitored 7/24.

In order for us to provide the Services to you, your personal information will be transferred to, and stored at/processed in the United States. Your personal data is also processed by staff operating outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such as in India and the Philippines, who work for us or for one of our suppliers. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal data is treated securely and in accordance with this notice.

For transfers of personal information within the Endurance corporate family, such transfer will be under the Commission’s model contracts for the transfer of personal data to third countries (i.e., the standard contractual clauses), pursuant to Decision 2004/915/EC and 2010/87/EU.

If we decide to change this privacy notice in any material way, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on www.japerez.org or the website of the JA Pérez™ product or service you use prior to the change becoming effective. In all cases, your continued use of any Services constitutes acceptance to any such changes.
